Corner signs up for 2015 Supersport Evo campaign

Road and Race Performance have announced a two-strong rider line-up for the 2015 Motorpoint British Supersport Championship, signing Sam Coventry and Josh Corner to battle in the Evo class on a pair of Kawasaki ZX6Rs.

Corner joins the team after ending third in the Evo title stakes this season with a victory and five further podium finishes.

Coventry remains with the team for his second season in the championship and believes he will be in a position to fight for the title after scoring two wins and a further four podium finishes in 2014.

Corner said: “I am really looking forward to working with the team next season. We have some good tests planned and that should give us a good place to start the championship. I want to be aiming for the top three in the championship and building our results throughout the year. I just want to also thank In House Developments Kawasaki Developments for this opportunity.”

Team manager Mark Hanna added: “We are very excited about the forthcoming year for both riders. Last season was really good for Sam, with two wins and podiums. He had a hard year suffering with arm pump and then a broken collarbone but he managed to overcome it after his operation. Sam has really proved with his hard work and commitment that he wants to try and win the Evo title in 2015.

“As a team we wanted to run two bikes in 2015 and one rider that kept coming to mind was Josh. I watched his performances all year and was very impressed – his race attitude will fit perfectly with our team. Sam and Josh will make perfect team-mates and we can’t wait to get started at Almeria in February for our first test. We think as a team we have two young and exciting riders who will have a fair crack at the championship.”
